ADOPTION

We offer 2 types of adoptions!

TRADITIONAL ADOPTIONS

This is the traditional type of adoption, where cats leave Love A Cat Charity for new homes.  In keeping with our mission statement, new owners must promise to:

  • spay / neuter kittens before their six month birthday

  • if the cat is no longer wanted, the cat must be returned to Love A Cat Charity

New owners are always welcome to call us for assistance or advice in helping their cat settle into their new homes.

Success stories of cats who have found new homes

VIRTUAL ADOPTIONS

Landlord doesn't allow pets or you already have several of your own?  You can still help out by virtually adopting Love A Cat Charity cat!  For $5.00 a month you become a cat's sponsor, ensuring it's health, safety and comfort, while we provide the daily love and care.

Virtual adopters are welcome to call or anytime for information on how their adopted cat is doing.  In addition, we hold an Adopters' Open House during the summer, where virtual adopters can visit, pet and get to know their sponsored cat.  You'll also receive a monthly "Cat of the Month" email, featuring one of special cats at Love A Cat Charity.

Sponsor one or as many as you want!  And, if a cat you sponsor is lucky enough to find a new home, your sponsorship can be transferred to any other cat of your choice.

Alfie
Alfie was found on the sidewalk at a school, where he was unable to move, due to starvation. A teacher called and asked us to help. After a few days of special care and lots of food, Alfie is learning that he has no more worries and he's gettling along well with the rest of the cats.
Ali
As a kitten, Ali’s mother separated him from the rest of
the litter because he had a cold. We bottle fed him and
he healed easily. He’s now a 9 year old healthy sweet-
heart.
Baby
Baby is an extremely shy cat who was found by a kind
lady late in this cat’s life. He likes other cats and
hanging out on roof tops.

Basil
Basil was abandoned by her owners when they moved but a kind mail carrier knew her and understood her situation.
The mail carrier fed her for some time but noticed she was sick. The mail carrier found Love-A-Cat and brought Basil to us. She had such advanced liver disease that her skin was yellow. Persistent treatments and TLC brought her back to excellent health. She now feels that she is the guardian of the master bathroom and rarely chooses to leave it and her little bed on the counter.

Belle
Belle was a small feral who was on her way to the Humane
Society with her sister, Jezzy. We received a call to stop the car
they were in and to rescue them. Today, Belle is a
beautiful long haired cat, whose love of the sun is bleaching
her coat a bit.
Bluebell
Bluebell was a feral who’d had her babies at the Humane
Society while awaiting to be spayed. The Humane Society
asked us if we would take her and of course we did! This
beautiful part Siamese had 7 beautiful babies, all of whom
were adopted to great indoor homes.
Bo
Bo and his brother, Didley, were found at the Airport location. They were "dropped off" by someone and had no idea how to survive in a feral colony. They've become comfortable and now thrive at Love-A-Cat.
Bucky
Bucky and his sister, Donivee, were about 5 days old when they were found abandoned. Since kittens that young are taught (by their mothers) never to move until her return, it was clear that their mama had been gone for awhile and that they were desparate, when they crawled out and start shouting to humans that they were hungry. Having been bottle fed and hand-held, they are exceptionally responsive to human voices and human touch. They both LOVE to nap up on your neck so they can feel your heart beat and smell you.

Cassie
Cassie is a friendly 10 year old feral from a colony of cats we care for. Her paw was maimed this past year (possibly by a car). We brought her to Love-A-Cat, fearing that her paw might not work again but after treatment and rest, in a safe spot, Cassie is doing very well and will remain in our fenced-in backyard.

Cathy
Cathy is a young spayed female who is short on tail and
long on love. This tabby and white beauty adores people.
Cecilio
Cecilio is a large black male who was adopted as a kitten
and abandoned as an adult. He is sometimes shy but
usually very friendly with people. He is named Cecilio for
his sweet, melodic voice.

Celine
Celine is a beautiful silver tabby who was born on New
Year’s Eve. She loves to hold conversations with people and has the smallest paws you’ve ever seen on a grown cat!

Charlie
Charlie is a grey tabby with one crinkled ear. He is so loving, falling at your feet to get a belly rub. He and his sister Kuro Chan were being cared for at a community college when the administration decided they wanted to get "rid" of all the cats. Charlie and his sister have an irritable bowel problem and eat a special diet to keep them healthy.
