ADOPTION

We offer 2 types of adoptions!

TRADITIONAL ADOPTIONS
(Cats go home with you)

This is the traditional type of adoption, where cats leave Love A Cat Charity for new homes.  In keeping with our mission statement, new owners must promise to:
  • spay / neuter kittens before their six month birthday

  • if the cat is no longer wanted, the cat must be returned to Love A Cat Charity

New owners are always welcome to call us for assistance or advice in helping their cat settle into their new homes.

if you are interested in making one of these special cats are part of your family!

Success stories of cats who have found new homes

VIRTUAL ADOPTIONS
(Cats stay here with us)

Landlord doesn't allow pets or you already have several of your own?  You can still help out by virtually adopting Love A Cat Charity cat!  For $5.00 a month you become a cat's sponsor, ensuring it's health, safety and comfort, while we provide the daily love and care.

Virtual adopters are welcome to call or anytime for information on how their adopted cat is doing.  In addition, we hold an Adopters' Open House during the summer, where virtual adopters can visit, pet and get to know their sponsored cat.  You'll also receive a monthly "Cat of the Month" email, featuring one of special cats at Love A Cat Charity.

Sponsor one or as many as you want!  And, if a cat you sponsor is lucky enough to find a new home, your sponsorship can be transferred to any other cat of your choice.

Alfalfa
Alfalfa and his siblings were rescued from a large animal charity when the head of that charity unexpectedly died. This family of kittens were well-loved at their previous home, so are very affectionate toward people. Alfalfa is an Abyssinian mix, ticked with tabby legs. He is well named as he is the alpha cat in this little family, sitting up high, guarding his human and his cat family from whatever he is imagining at the moment. Alfalfa meets your eyes and you know he is thinking only of you. He is such a people cat.
Alfie
Alfie was found on the sidewalk at a school, where he was unable to move, due to starvation. A teacher called and asked us to help. After a few days of special care and lots of food, Alfie is learning that he has no more worries and he's gettling along well with the rest of the cats.
Alice
Alice was brought to a vet's clinic when the little girl who found her was told that she could not keep her newly found kitten. The little girl took awhile to decide that Alice would be safe there and, before leaving, made sure that everyone knew her name was "Alice". Being Siamese, Alice is beautiful, alert and smart. When sleeping, she pushes herself right up against people.
Bella
Bella and her brother, Carlisle, were found by a one of our colony feeders, curled up behind her water heater. They are both very friendly, love to be petted and will follow people anywhere.
Bendi
Bendi was found near the Airport trying to eat out of the trash cans. She was named for the bright orange "bendi" marking on her forehead, like a proper Indian lady.
Bo
Bo and his brother, Didley, were found at the Airport location. They were "dropped off" by someone and had no idea how to survive in a feral colony. They've become comfortable and now thrive at Love-A-Cat.
Buckwheat
Buckwheat and his siblings were rescued from a large animal charity when the head of that charity unexpectedly died. This family of kittens were well-loved at their previous home, so are very affectionate toward people. Buckwheat is male tabby with white. He loves to sit on your lap and look longingly into your eyes. He loves it when a person takes the time to read to him.
Bucky
Bucky and his sister were just 5 days old when they were found abandoned. While his sister has found her forever home, Bucky is waiting patiently for his.  Having been bottle fed and hand-held, he is exceptionally responsive to human voices and human touch. Bucky has bold, striking tabby markings and LOVES to nap up on your neck so he can feel your heart beat and smell you.
Carlisle
Carlisle and his sister, Bella, were found by a one of our colony feeders, curled up behind her water heater. They are both very friendly, love to be petted and will follow people anywhere.

Cassie
Cassie is a friendly 10 year old feral from a colony of cats we care for. Her paw was maimed this past year (possibly by a car). We brought her to Love-A-Cat, fearing that her paw might not work again but after treatment and rest, in a safe spot, Cassie is doing very well and will remain in our fenced-in backyard.

Cathy
Cathy is a young spayed female who is short on tail and
long on love. This tabby and white beauty adores people.
Cecilio
Cecilio is a large black male who was adopted as a kitten
and abandoned as an adult. He is sometimes shy but
usually very friendly with people. He is named Cecilio for
his sweet, melodic voice.
